Luigi Tiziano Peccenini, Honorary President, Wall Street Institute International and Wall Street English China.
"In a sound business, profit is the consequence, not the purpose"
Luigi Tiziano Peccenini ("Pecce" as he is known to most) founded Wall Street Institute in 1972 in Italy. Pecce launched a company that would become a pioneer in English language training and would revolutionize the approach to language teaching.
Born to a modest family in Ferrara, Italy, Pecce started his career at the age of 19 as a sales agent. He created his first company, a computer training company called Computex, at the age of 28. He sold Computex in 1972 and launched Wall Street Institute.
The program that Pecce developed for Wall Street combined self-directed, teacher-assisted learning methodologies and integrated advanced multimedia tools with human interaction, turning it into a self-paced, highly flexible program that could be adapted to the needs of each individual student. The method he introduced is still used in all Wall Street centers today.
After overseeing expansion throughout Europe and in other key markets across the globe, Pecce sold the company in 1997. In 2000, Pecce opened the first Wall Street English center in China. After successfully developing over 30 centers in the main cities, he sold the company in 2006. Today there are over 50 centers in China.
Pecce holds a BA in Foreign Languages and Literature from Bocconi University in Milan, Italy. He speaks 6 languages: Italian, English, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Catalan. He serves as Honorary President to Wall Street Institute International and Wall Street English China, which together feature 450 centers in 27 countries across the globe. He currently resides in China.
